SEYCHELLES' BEST ISLAND TO STAY
The Seychelles is a stunning location. This is a nation made up of numerous islands, the most well-known of which are Mahe, Praslin, and La Digue. The two largest and presumably most visited islands are Mahe and Praslin. However, each of the three islands is stunning, and it can be difficult to choose between them. Because everyone has different needs and objectives, you can choose the ideal island to stay on in Seychelles for you. To make it easier for you to decide, we'll tell you more about each island.
MAHE - SEYCHELLES' LARGEST ISLAND WITH THE BEST BEACHES
To begin, we'll look at Mahe. Because we visited the Seychelles in December, we were able to see the "good side" of the country. What exactly does it mean to be on the "good side"? The Seychelles are windy, and some of the best beach hotels in Seychelles feature strong currents and a lot of seaweed at certain times of the year. The windiest side of Mahe was the left side, which is where the airport is located, during the winter months of December to February. Mahe is spectacular, and we believe it has the best swimming and snorkeling beaches in the Seychelles.
THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BEACHES IN MAHE
The best beaches in Mahe, Seychelles are covered in a separate post, but we'll highlight here that the Beau Vallon beach was our absolute favorite for swimming and snorkeling. Port Launay and the Takamaka beach were additional highlights of our trip.
MAHE, SEYCHELLES: THINGS TO DO
Apart from swimming and snorkeling, Mahe offers a variety of activities such as hiking, fruit shopping at Victoria's fruit and seafood market, booking a diving tour to a nearby island, visiting the Morne Seychellois park, and much more.
IN MAHE, THE BEST PLACE TO STAY
The Seychelles have the advantage of not requiring you to stay in a resort. There are many lovely flats available, and you can truly stick to a budget. However, you can stay in one of the gorgeous Seychelles resorts and have access to the nicest beaches.
Where to Stay:
The Best Beach Resort in Seychelles is Story Seychelles. The hotel is situated in Beau Vallon Beach, one of the most luxurious neighborhoods on Mahè's gorgeous island, 10 minutes from Victoria, 5 minutes from the Morne Seychelles National Park, and 20 minutes from the Seychelles International Airport.
Beau Vallon Beach is the only year-round swimmable beach in Mahe, with 3 kilometers of white sand and blue water. A natural reef can be reached by swimming 50 meters directly from the beach, making it one of the best honeymoon resorts in the Seychelles.
REASONS TO STAY IN MAHE
In the Seychelles, Mahe is a wonderful area to stay. On Mahe, you can enjoy the fantastic beaches, a wide selection of restaurants, and many activities. You don't have to pay extra for a ferry or an aircraft to Praslin or La Digue because the airport is in Mahe. You can also find more offers for Seychelles’ all-inclusive luxury resorts here since this is the biggest island in the country.
THE COCO DE MER ISLAND OF PRASLIN
Praslin, the second-largest island in the Seychelles, is another favorite destination for visitors. Anse Lazio beach is Praslin's most famous attraction, and it is always ranked among the top 15 beaches in the world. Although Praslin is much smaller than Mahe, it's still not easy to walk around. Buses are available, however, as you can drive practically anywhere in 15 minutes it is far more convenient to explore Praslin by automobile.
PRASLIN: THINGS TO DO
Although Praslin has fewer activities than Mahe, it does have two beautiful nature reserves worth exploring. The famous Coco De Mer only grows in Praslin, and you can see it at Vallee De Mai, which is a bit pricey, costing almost $25 per person. Coco de Mer is a nut with an unusual form that resembles a butt or a heart.
With a spectacular vista across the entire island of Praslin, Fond Ferdinand is a less expensive national park. Praslin also offers a couple of tours to neighboring smaller islands.
Where To Stay
Praslin is home to a number of best places to stay in Seychelles. Ocean Jewels Resort, The Marine Park Cottage, Seashell Self-Catering, and Villa Milou are all good places to stay if you're on a budget.
Reason To Stay
Because Praslin is a small island, getting about by car is simple. In Praslin, you'll also find one of the best beaches on the planet.
LA DIGUE - LUXURIOUS RESORTS IN A TROPICAL PARADISE
Because they are so close to each other, only 15 minutes by ferry, La Digue is always compared to Praslin. La Digue is accessible by ferry pretty frequently, so you can come even for just a day. However, there are a few things to consider if you intend to remain in La Digue.
To begin with, La Digue has numerous beautiful beaches, however, they are not all accessible to the public for free, and they are not all ideal for swimming at certain periods of the year. In December, for example, the currents in Grande Anse were so powerful that swimming was dangerous.
The most famous Anse Source D'Argent, on the other hand, was flawless. To enter, however, you must pay roughly 120 Seychelles Rupees per person, and this is just for one day.
It is definitely worthwhile to visit La Digue, and if you want to unwind in a Seychelles resort, spend at least three days there. There's no need to rent a car. However, you will need to rent a bicycle to explore the entire island. It's both convenient and enjoyable.
Where To Stay
In La Digue, there are various lovely resorts, such as Le Domaine D'Orangeraie. Chalets Anse Reunion and Veronic Self-Catering are two stunning, inexpensive guest houses and apartments.

IN LA DIGUE, THESE ARE SOME OF THE THINGS TO DO:
You can go on a trip to the local islands, which is fairly spectacular, in addition to swimming and snorkeling and riding your bike anywhere.
Reason To Stay
There is a unique vibe and atmosphere on this small tropical island. It is the most peaceful island in the Seychelles and the ideal destination for a quiet vacation.
WHAT TO CHOOSE: PRASLIN, MAHE, OR LA DIGUE?
Try to explore all of the islands, or at least two of them, if you get the chance. A trip to Seychelles can incorporate two or three islands, and it can even be done within a short time frame.
Summary
Every one of the islands in the Seychelles is gorgeous and special, and it's up to you to decide where you want to stay. Should you want to go snorkeling and scuba diving, Mahe or La Digue are the places to go, however, Praslin was not. Mahe is the place to go if you're searching for a great area for swimming. Praslin is also an excellent alternative if you're searching for national parks, hiking, and swimming.
